Sibling Support Conference - July 9th - 10th

July 01, 2011

The sibling relationship is known to be the longest lasting relationship in the family.  Brothers and sisters are likely to experience concerns throughout their lives.  Despite their importance, siblings' concerns are too often ignored.   For everyone's sake, parents and providers must learn more about life as a brother or sister of a person with special needs.

I know most of us feel that we cannot fit one more thing into our schedule, especially two days and on a weekend.  This is an EXCELLENT opportunity for our communities in Missouri and Kansas to have sibling workshops in their immediate area.  If you live in Gardner, you certainly do not want to drive to Liberty to attend a sibling workshop.  This is a chance for each metropolitan community to have at least one SibShop in their area.  Sibshops are kid-friendly workshops as rewarding to run as they are to attend!!!
