Milestones Academy

We provide year-round, 1:1 academic instruction using progressive Applied Behavior Analytic programs for individuals aged 3 to 21.  We develop effective plans for students with severe behaviors who have not been successful in their previous placements. Our mission is to reintegrate students back to a more traditional school setting by stabilizing their behavior and improving academic progress. We assist school districts with student reintegration by providing extensive training at our facility and ongoing support from our PBM behavior consultants.
In addition, we offer on-site Speech/Language Pathologists and have established relationships with respected providers of occupational therapy, physical therapy, music therapy, vision therapy and others as directed by the student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP).

Our methodology

Our curriculum and strategies in programming are based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis including Positive Behavior Supports.

We also draw from strategies developed by the Princeton Child Development Institute, Juniper Gardens Children’s Project, Vanderbilt Milieu Language Project, TEACCH, Delaware Autistic Program, May Institute, and the individual research of Koegel, Lovaas, Charlop, Schreibman, Dunlap, Schopler, Favell, Partington, Sundberg, and Carbonne, (among others).
